Q:When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are typically scheduled within the first few weeks after birth, but scheduling should be done a month or more in advance to ensure a slot on our schedule. This allows time for everyone to settle in at home while still capturing those early, fleeting moments. Flexibility is always built in, especially around baby’s needs.
Q:Where do newborn sessions take place?
A: Newborn sessions are photographed in your home, creating a relaxed and familiar environment. This lifestyle approach allows for natural moments and meaningful connection without the stress of traveling with a new baby. I provide a few different prop, outfit, and wrap options for your baby, and colors will be discussed after booking.
Q:What if my baby is fussy or needs breaks?
A: That’s completely expected. Sessions are slow-paced and baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks as needed. There is no rush, and your baby’s comfort always comes first.
Q:Do you use props or posed setups?
A: Newborn sessions focus on natural, lifestyle moments, along with a few simple posed setups. The goal is to document your family as you are...holding, soothing, and connecting with your baby in an authentic way.
Q:How long is a newborn session?
A: Newborn sessions can range from 1-3 hours. This relaxed approach ensures an stress-free experience and allows space for natural moments to unfold. Mini sessions are shorter, and focus on baby only- but still are never rushed.

There are not enough words to describe the work of Lily Bugs. We booked her for a newborn session, the process was fairly easy. Before the session takes the time to get to know you to personalize it. Most importantly she works accordingly to your budget.
When she got to our house our daughter had already been up for 5 hours, she was extremely fuzzy and refusing to sleep. Celena went out of her way to comfort our kid so we can capture our baby. Not only did she comfort our kid she made us feel comfortable!! When taking the pictures she was very professional, she was always on the look out for our babys safety and she was very knowledgeable. We were even able to include our dogs, which we consider part of the family and oh boy they were very excited but we made it work.
Now the pictures? The same day we got a sneak peak. The pictures came out bright, not heavily edited and very cute. As a first time parent i thank her for being able to work with us. I don't know if we would've been able to capture the moment if we didn't hire her. Thank you Celena! We will definitely keep on working with you and I will forever tell everyone about your job.🥺❤️
Celena was not only very sweet but she went out of her way to make my vision for my newborn's photo shoot a reality. My sweet little one was not the most cooperative on the day of shooting but Celena was very patient and made it work. The photos turned out super cute and all of my questions and concerns were answered quickly! Will be booking again! Thank you!
